Understanding Build Options

Updated 2 months ago 4 min read

Every listing on LanderBlock displays a set of details that tell you exactly what you are getting before you buy. This guide explains each option so you can choose the right Minecraft world for your game.

Product Page Details

At the top of every product page you will see coloured tags that summarise the build at a glance:

  • Category badge — Identifies the build type, such as Houses, Castles, Cities, Survival Bases, Fantasy, Mega Builds, or Villages.
  • Platform — Shows whether the build supports Java Edition, Bedrock Edition, or Java & Bedrock.
  • Minecraft version — States the game version the build was created in and is compatible with.
  • File size — Listed in MB in the detail panel so you know how large the download will be.

These details also appear in the sidebar detail panel alongside the file type (always ZIP), licence, and upload date.

Build Categories

LanderBlock hosts a wide variety of worlds. Common categories include:

  • Houses — Cosy starter homes, modern mansions, and everything in between.
  • Castles — Medieval fortresses, Gothic towers, and grand keeps.
  • Cities — Sprawling urban environments with streets, buildings, and public spaces.
  • Survival Bases — Practical builds designed for survival gameplay with farms, storage, and defences.
  • Fantasy — Imaginative creations such as floating islands, enchanted forests, and mythical structures.
  • Mega Builds — Large-scale projects that push the limits of what Minecraft can display.
  • Villages — Community-style settlements with multiple houses, paths, and shared areas.

Build Types

Builds on LanderBlock come in different types depending on how they are packaged:

Flat World

The build is placed on a flat (superflat) world with no surrounding terrain. Ideal for showcasing the build itself without distractions. You download a complete world folder as a ZIP and load it directly into Minecraft.

Seed World

The build is placed within a natural seed-generated landscape with terrain, biomes, and surroundings. Some Seed World listings include the seed number and coordinates so you can explore the surrounding area. This gives a more immersive experience. Like Flat World builds, you download a complete world folder as a ZIP.

Structure Block File (.mcstructure)

Structure Block files are exported builds that buyers import using Minecraft’s built-in Structure Block feature. This format is specific to Bedrock Edition.

  • How it works — The creator exports their build using Structure Blocks in Bedrock Edition, packages the .mcstructure files into a ZIP, and uploads it to LanderBlock.
  • Why buyers want this — You can import the build into any existing world or seed. It does not replace your world — it adds the build to it. This is perfect if you already have a survival world you love and want to place a new castle, house, or base into it.
  • Large builds — Because Structure Blocks in Bedrock have a size limit of 64×64×64 blocks, large builds are split into multiple .mcstructure files that you load in sequence. See our guide on exporting and importing large builds with Structure Blocks for step-by-step instructions.

For a full walkthrough of how to use Structure Block files, read our Using Structure Blocks guide.

Schematic (.schem)

Schematics serve a similar purpose to Structure Block files but are used on Java Edition. Created with tools like WorldEdit, .schem files let you paste a build into any Java world. While Bedrock players use Structure Blocks (.mcstructure), Java players use schematics (.schem) to achieve the same result — importing a build into an existing world without replacing it.

The description tab on each listing specifies which build type is included. Not all listings display a build type tag yet, so check the description for details.

What Vanilla Only Means

Every build on LanderBlock is labelled Vanilla Only. This means the world was constructed using the base game — no mods, plugins, or resource packs are required to open and enjoy it. You can load the file straight into a standard Minecraft installation without installing anything extra.

Licence and Pricing

All builds are sold under a personal use only licence by default. This means you may use the world in your own game but may not redistribute or resell it.

Prices on LanderBlock start from £1 and vary depending on the size and complexity of the build. You can filter by price range on the shop page to find worlds that fit your budget. Each purchase is a one-time payment with instant download — no subscriptions or hidden fees.

Understanding these options helps you pick the perfect build every time. Head to the Explore Builds page and use the filters to narrow your search.
